Pothole Patching Machine - Coatar

WORKING PRINCIPLE

‘COATAR’ – Pothole Patching Machine for road repair unit shall be mounted with rear mounted boom using spray injection method to pothole repairs for roadways, highways, shoulders, sidewalks, foot and cycle paths and parking areas.

1. Cleaning:

A high-volume blower first removes loose debris, dust and moisture from the pothole, ensuring a clean surface for the patch to adhere to.

2. Preparation:

The machine then sprays emulsion (tack coat) on the clean surface, which acts as a sealant and base.

3. Filling:

The machine fills the hole with gravel coated uniformly with bitumen emulsion using the spray injection method with high-velocity air into the pothole, ensuring compaction from the bottom up.

4. Finishing:

A final layer of dry aggregate or sand can be sprayed to protect the wet patch and prevent traffic from disturbing it.

Key Benefits

Speed and Efficiency

Repairs can be completed very quickly, allowing a two-person crew to handle tasks that would otherwise require a larger gang.

Durability

The spray-injection method creates a dense and longer-lasting patch compared to traditional methods.

Environmental Friendliness

The process uses environmentally friendly materials and allows for leftover materials to be stored and reused.

Safety

Operators spend less time exposed to hazardous traffic, enhancing overall safety.

Cost-Effectiveness

The reduced labour and material waste make it an economical choice for road maintenance.
